Xiaomi has become the No. 1 smartphone maker in China and the No. 3 in the world with a global market share of 13 percent in February, while Huawei sits fourth in China with a 4 percent global market share, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research.
Samsung, the world’s No. 1 cell phone maker, had a 20 percent market share, while Apple came in second with a 17 percent market share and Huawei fell to sixth globally.
OPPO ranked fourth behind Xiaomi with a 12% market share and Vivo ranked fifth with a 10% market share. In addition, Honor ranked seventh with a 2 percent market share.
Counterpoint Research’s overall global smartphone market shipment figures for 2020 show Samsung in first place with a 19% share and Apple in second place at 15%.
In 2020, Huawei (including Honor) and Xiaomi are in third and fourth place with 14% and 11%, respectively.
