Huawei is positioning itself as an incremental component supplier in the smart connected car industry with the goal of helping car companies build good cars, the company said, adding that it has developed a new computing and communication architecture for next-generation smart connected cars.
Huawei said it will launch HarmonyOS on cell phones, an operating system that has more than 20 hardware vendors and 280 application vendors participating in the eco-building process.
Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) has become the third-largest mobile app ecosystem in the world, with 2.3 million registered developers worldwide by the end of 2020, including 300,000 overseas, and more than 120,000 extended apps, Huawei said.
HMS Core 5.0 open capability covers seven areas, including app services, graphics, media, AI, smart device, security, system. HMS for cars has been adapted to a number of car companies.
Huawei’s global sales revenue in 2020 was RMB 891.4 billion ($136.1 billion), up 3.8% year-on-year; net profit was RMB 64.6 billion, up 3.2% year-on-year; and cash flow from operating activities was RMB 35.2 billion, largely in line with expectations.
