Hardware Key combination method to take a screenshot on Xiaomi Redmi Note 8
- Navigate to the page/App on which you want to capture a screenshot.
- Press and Hold Power and Volume Down button simultaneously.
- You will hear shutter sound(provided phone is not in silent mode).
- Small Preview will appear in the top right.
- This confirms screenshot is saved.

- Go to the screen on which you want to grab a screenshot.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel.
- Tap on screenshot button.
Using Quick Ball to take a screenshot
Quick Ball was introduced in MIUI 8. It is something similar to Assistive Touch in iOS. Once enabled, a floating circle will appear. This has quick access shortcut to five functions. Home, back, recent, power off and screenshot.
- To enable Quick ball, go to Quick ball->Additional settings->Quick ball. Now enable the Quick Ball.
- Now, on any screen on which you want to capture a screenshot, just tap the quick ball icon.
- Choose screenshot shortcut.
Three Finger gesture screenshot
To use this method, you need to enable three-finger gesture first.
- Go to “Settings” – “Additional settings” – “Button and gesture shortcuts” – “Take a screenshot” – select “Slide 3 fingers down”.
- Now Slide down 3 fingers on the page you want to take a screenshot.
- The screenshot will be saved.
Scroll Screenshot in Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro
To take scroll screenshot or long screenshot,
- Take a screenshot using any of the above-mentioned methods.
- You will see a preview in the top right.
- There you will find the scroll. Tap on it.
- Continue till you want the screenshot to be taken.
