Samsung Galaxy A50 gets a respectable camera score in DxOMark testing

The Samsung Galaxy A50 is one of the few mid-rangers with a triple-camera setup on its back and according to DxOMark’s testing and scoring, it’s actually better than some of the older flagship phones out there.

The total score is 83, which is by no means flagship-worthy by 2019 standards but it is on par with the LG G7 ThinQ and just a point or two shy of the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Apple iPhone 7.

Breaking down the score, the phone did pretty well in the stills department managing 85 points and relatively worse for video with 79. Great color reproduction, wide dynamic range, good exposure and white balance were its key strengths.

Not so great were the fine detail levels, the low light focus speed and accuracy as well as the green and pink color casts.

Video recording received a rather low score due to autofocus inconsistencies and lack of detail. Otherwise, color reproduction and noise reduction were pretty good. Stabilization impressed the DxO team too.
